Arayes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80-85% lean)
  • 2 roma tomatoes, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 small yellow onion, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 2 tsp 7 spice
  • 2 tsp sumac
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper, to taste
  • 4-6 double-ply thick medium pita bread
  • - 2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

  • Place the ground beef, tomatoes, onions, parsley, 7 spice, sumac, cinnamon, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix to combine
  • Cut each pita in half. Pull apart the two sides of the pita. Spoon 3-4 tbsp of the beef mixture into each pita half, then close it.
  • Heat a regular pan over medium heat with 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • Place the stuffed pitas in the pan and cook until golden and the beef is cooked to your liking, flipping halfway through
